Interview with artist, Sculptor Steve Blaylock

I always find it fascinating the way other artists work. From where they get their creative genius, to how they implement their thoughts and processes into their craft.

So when my daughter Schyler started doing an art project at school on birds, my first port of call was Steve Blaylock.

Steve is perhaps best known for creating the magnificent steel Blue Peter ship – yeah he’s got a Blue Peter badge! But most of his work revolves around birds, insects and the natural world. He undertakes commissions across the globe creating incredible steel sculptures of owls, hawks, giant mushrooms and flowers.

Steve very kindly gave up his afternoon to let Schyler interview him about his art, how his ADHD impacts his work, and where he gets his inspiration.
